Basic shoes’ inspiration comes from suprematist theory and works of Kasimir Malevich. It explores geometry, geometric abstraction, visual contrast and minimalist approach to design.
Contrast is enhanced in cross-use of synthetic/natural materials, black/white colour and matte/glossy materials. Originator of geometric abstraction, Kazimir Malevich is one of the first artists who decisively broke the tradition of the subject in art, and his work “Black Square on a White Background” showed that the contrast is the basis of art. The work consists of the four pairs of women’s shoes manufactured by hand and machine processing and finishing.
